Acupuncture & Dry Needling

Acupuncture involves the insertion of very thin needles through your skin at strategic meridian points on your body. Acupuncture is a major component of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and is very commonly used to treat pain. Increasingly, it is being used for overall wellness, including stress management.

Acupuncture and dry needling are similar in that they both use very fine, filament needles and they do not use any form of injection. But this is where the similarity stops. Dry needling is  method of treatment performed that works to reduce pain and muscle tension , and increase mobility. It has been proven effective in treating numerous musculoskeletal issues, including acute and chronic injuries, overuse injuries, neck pain, headaches, back pain, sciatica, muscle spasms, muscle strains, tendinitis, knee pain, hip pain, fibromyalgia, tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow, and more. Dry needling is a great therapy to use in conjunction with chiropractic and physical therapy.
